Bitcoin plunges as much as 17% as investors grow wary of record-breaking rally
The bitcoin price briefly plunged as much as 17% on Tuesday to below $45,000 before regaining some ground as sky-high cryptocurrency valuations unnerved investors. Bitcoin (BTC) stood at $48,479 at 10.30 am ET on Tuesday – after hitting a record high of more than $58,000 on Sunday – taking its one-day losses to around 9.3% on the Coinbase exchange.
